Who knew our office was brimming with such incredible talent? Our very first Millbank Christmas Market was an absolute revelation, showcasing the hidden talents of our amazing staff that we'd never known existed!
The room was a Christmas delight. A welcoming sign, cheerful bunting, wreaths adorning the walls, and a glistening Christmas tree in the corner. Tables were brimming with crafts and food, and everyone was in absolute awe of how fantastic it all looked.
Let's talk about our incredible Shiv first! Her Christmas wreaths were nothing short of spectacular. Decorated with bold candy canes, charming nutcrackers and fairies, sparkly snowflakes, elegant baubles & bows and ‘Candy Cane Lane’ signs, these wreaths are unique showstoppers. Everyone was full of compliments, and it's easy to see why!
Her talents went a little further as she also brought shortbread and shortcake treat bags to the market – the perfect sweet companion to our afternoon coffee.
Becky brought her incredible jewellery-making skills to the market, and her creativity knows no bounds! Her earrings are miniature works of art. Imagine tiny Christmas puddings, sparkling stars, winter mittens, donuts, and even adorable cats – each piece more delightful than the last. The level of detail in such small designs is truly mind-blowing!
Our baking queen Zoe arrived with the most amazing cookies. Not just content with selling fresh treats on the day, she also offered pre-orders for pizza-sized 'Christmas wreath' themed cookies – perfect for sharing with family. White chocolate or milk chocolate chip? Why not both!
Who knew our payroll department was hiding so much creativity? Han surprised everyone with her lovely handmade crafts – beautifully scented candles, mini vases, trinket plates and bowls, coasters, and Christmas tree decorations. It's been such a joy discovering these unexpected talents that were hiding right under our noses.
Weronika from payroll also stepped up with her handmade jewellery. Her stall featured stunning pieces crafted with care – dainty earrings and lovely beaded bracelets made from an incredible array of stones. Agate, lava rock, pink quartz, garnet, onyx, and turquoise came together in the most beautiful designs. Another hidden gem among us!
Claire set up a special stall for her son's personalised gifts. His collection of water tumblers, cups, slate pictures, keyrings, baubles, metal bookmarks, and wooden Santa trays could be beautifully etched, making them unique and thoughtful gifts that anyone would love to receive.
Corinne came through with a fantastic Avon stall that had something for everyone. Boxed gift sets, jewellery, candles, body sprays, shower gels, mascaras, makeup – you name it! And at such great prices too!
Julie's vegan fruit loaf was an absolute hit too. We all talked about cutting lovely thick slices and toasting with a generous spread of butter – absolutely delicious! There's already talk of her making more, yes please Julie!
Our receptionist Sara brought the most talked-about item – sausage rolls, made by her lovely mum Ruth! These weren't just any sausage rolls. We're talking flavour sensations: we had the good old original, a pork and apple, spicy chilli, and a festive special with turkey, stuffing, and cranberry. The queues started forming before her dad Les had even delivered them!
It looks like we might have started a new tradition! Here's to our first Millbank Christmas Market – a day of surprises, talents, and festive cheer. A massive thank you to everyone who set up the event and to all our incredible market sellers. We can't wait to see what next year brings!
