Millbank kicked off the year’s social calendar in style with an unforgettable evening at Flight Club, Liverpool One!

It was Friday, early evening, and as we walked in to Flight Club with music playing, a groups socialising, their was an unmistakable buzz to the start of a great night.

We all gathered at the bar, where Jo welcomed us with drinks before we were escorted to our double ochey for the Millbank team. From there, the fun really began! Our group naturally split into two teams, ready to take on six exciting games:

  • Donkey Derby - Hit your donkey’s number to move forward, but watch out! Lynsey’s bullseye sent us all back to the start!

  • Demolition - 200 blocks to knock down, aiming to land exactly on zero. Many of us went bust, but the competition was fierce!

  • Quack Shot - A test of precision where the highest bullseye scorer after six rounds was crowned the winner.

  • Snakes & Ladders - The dartboard acted as our dice, with ladders boosting us forward and the dreaded ‘Big Mamba’ snake sending unlucky players back to the start!

  • Shanghai - Players had to aim for their target number, with doubles and triples stacking up the points. After eight rounds, the highest-scoring pair took the win!

  • Killer - The ultimate elimination game. Hit your number three times to become the killer, then knock out opponents by hitting theirs. Last one standing wins!

To keep us all fuelled up for the games, Millbank also provided delicious sharing platters for everyone to tuck into. We had vegetarian platters with tomato & guacamole bruschetta, mac & cheese croquettes, and hummus with flatbread. The meat platters featured chicken satay and Korean beef skewers, Peking duck wraps and chicken katsu bites. And if that wasn’t enough, there were loads of salty fries and two sharing pizza paddles! The food was served by plenty of staff ensuring everything arrived fresh and ready to enjoy.

Each game was easy to follow, with clear on-screen instructions making it accessible for all skill levels. Laughter echoed around the venue as everyone got involved, and the competitive streaks came out in full force!

The interactive screens at each ochey added to the experience, allowing us to order drinks, check scores, snap selfies, and even watch instant replays of top shots on the big screens above the dartboards. A perfect blend of tech, social fun, and friendly competition!

Adding to the quirky charm of the venue, there was a full-size retro telephone box in the corner, decorated inside like a disco! If you answered the phone, you'd hear Lionel Richie or Adele singing to you - cue a fun game of guess the song!

The verdict? A brilliant group experience! Everyone had an amazing time, and we’re already counting down to Millbank Socials, Event #02.
