This week, our Principal Recruitment Consultant, Ryan Hutchison, attended the highly anticipated Project Controls Expo in London - a must-attend event for project controls professionals. Bringing together experts, innovators, and industry leaders from across the globe, the Expo offers a comprehensive view of the latest tools, techniques, and best practices shaping the future of project controls.
With dedicated areas like the Innovation Zone and the Megaprojects Zone, the Expo dives into real-world applications, showcases cutting-edge technologies, and shares insights on managing billion-pound projects. Attendees had access to an unparalleled range of professional development opportunities, including panel discussions, case studies, and networking sessions. This event not only provides project professionals with the resources to solve complex challenges but also helps them stay competitive in a rapidly evolving field.
Ryan's participation underscored our commitment to connecting clients with top talent in project controls, while staying at the forefront of industry advancements.
Reflecting on his day at the expo, Ryan recounted the collaborative energy and the inspiring conversations that made the event a standout experience. Here’s a closer look at his experience and insights from the day:
My day started bright and early and after a few hours on the train, I finally arrived at the iconic Wembley Stadium to attend the 2024 Project Controls Expo which was an experience to remember.
The place was buzzing with industry experts from some of the top consultancies, software development firms, and recruitment companies in the field. It was clear that everyone had the same objective: to network and share their knowledge and interest of Project Controls.
Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with a number of talented professionals. People like Dale Foong from Movar, Imerdeep Rehlon of Blueprint Solutions, Chiara Dominte from Costain, Jill Partington from Assystem, Kurt Metcalfe and Daniel Ashton of Proicere, and Shilpan Prajapati from Adept Management, to name a few.
Each conversation was a reminder of the passion and expertise that drive this industry forward. Everyone I met was open and generous with their insights, making it a truly collaborative environment.
As the afternoon wore on, I noticed the event starting to quiet down, as attendees began to drift out in anticipation of the evening’s awards ceremony, but in those few hours I was there, I gained an incredible amount of value from the experience - both from the knowledge shared and the connections made.
For anyone considering attending the Project Controls Expo in 2025, I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s an event that not only fosters professional growth but also brings together a community of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of our industry.
I would like to congratulate and thank the event organiser Dale Foong of Movar for arranging such a successful expo. I am sure this view is shared with everyone that attended the event!
See you next year!
