Global engineering firm Fluor Corporation have been awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) for INEOS’s processing plant to be built at the Saltend Chemical Park in Hull, it has been announced.
The new INEOS plant will produce up to 300,000 tons of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) per year, which could be used in products such as wind screens, toughened glass, adhesives and textiles.
The FEED project will determine the design and technology selection for the plant, along with estimated costs and scheduling.
It follows the announcement earlier in the year that INEOS will invest £150m in the Hull site.
